"I am living out my life in my corner, taunting myself with the spiteful and useless consolation that an intelligent man cannot become anything seriously, and it is only the fool who becomes anything....A man ought to be pre-eminently a characterless creature; a man of character, an active man, is pre-eminently a limited creature." -Notes from the Underground, F. Dostoevsky

LDS Temple Districts

Blame it on the economy. I didn't have a case to work on yesterday, so I put this together. It just makes me feel so good that all those years I paid tithing, I was not only helping to fund political assaults on gay marriage, but I was also making sure that the two stakes and one mission district in Nova Scotia got a temple, while the seventy-nine stakes and ninety mission districts in the Phillipines continued to share a single temple.

*For purposes of organizing, temple districts were sorted with the assumption that stakes were equally sized and that four mission districts were equivalent to a single stake. Of course, both assumptions are patently false, but I had to sort the numbers somehow, and in any event, the relative sizes of the temple districts are probably, more or less, accurate.
