so, yeah. i dunno what the voice for this blog will sound like, or even if this thing will survive any longer than the two or so other blogs i've started then failed to consistently post on. plus, i'm no dostoevsky, and a quote i heard years ago (and whose insight and utility frankly escape me) flatly forbade anyone from writing biographically unless they were dostoevsky. i'm sure nabokov would disapprove.
it takes a large, excessively unhealthy dose of self-confidence to actually publish one's own words. i'm opening wide.
"I am living out my life in my corner, taunting myself with the spiteful and useless consolation that an intelligent man cannot become anything seriously, and it is only the fool who becomes anything....A man ought to be pre-eminently a characterless creature; a man of character, an active man, is pre-eminently a limited creature." -Notes from the Underground, F. Dostoevsky
